Snowy Owl Annual Movements

Since 1999, we radio tracked snowy owls from nesting range around Barrow, Alaska. After their young fledged in July 1999, we tracked females from Alaska to wintering areas in the Bering Strait and northeastern Russia and southern Alaska.
